    Howl’s Moving Castle

    Howl's Moving Castle

The film was released in 2004 by Studio Ghibli. It is a film directed by Hayao Miyazaki and based after the British novel Howl’s Moving Castle by Diane Wynne Jones. Toshio Suzuki produced the film. It was originally suppose to be directed by Mamoru Hosoda (director of an episode and two movies of the Digimon series), but things fell through. It has won the award for Best Animation Feature in 2006.

A young 18 year old woman, Sophie, is the main character and heroine of the movie. She is cursed by a witch and turned into a 90 year old woman. She is very horrified at first, but comes to live with it. A man named Howl helps her get over her fears and anxiety with the help of a few other friends.

Why I chose this: Howl’s Moving Castle is a great film for several reasons, the tale that is told, the romance, and the lessons learned. These are all great reasons to watch this movie.
