    Kaichou wa Maid-sama Review

    Kaichou wa Maid-sama

A friend of mine actually recommended Kaichou wa Maid-sama for me once she found out I enjoy romance. I was reluctant to watch it at first, because it seemed like the typical “good girl falls in love with popular guy” type of plot, so I was surprised at the fact that I couldn’t stop watching it.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama is centered on how Misaki Ayuzawa and Takumi Usui’s relationship grows over time. Usui first becomes interested in Misaki when he finds her in a maid uniform outside of the maid cafe where she works. He continues to pester her and visit the maid cafe everyday, calling himself her “stalker.” He continuously shows different forms of affection towards her, but she either ignores him or yells at him. Finally, after what she seems like forever, she confesses her feelings for him.

Misaki Ayuzawa is the school president and one of the main characters of Kaichou wa Maid-sama. The other main character, Takumi Usui, is the school’s most popular guy and a favorite among every student. His rival is Hinata Shintani, who joins the school in the middle of the year. He is Misaki’s childhood friend and obviously likes her, which causes jealousy to spark within Usui. Misaki’s friends are Sakura Hanazono and Shizuko Kaga. Her fan club includes three members of The Moron Trio, who also catch her in her maid uniform but are scared off by Usui. Since then, they have joined Usui in visited the cafe everyday.

Maid Latte is the cafe where Misaki works in Kaichou wa Maid-sama. She works there in order to help support her family. She tries to keep her working there a secret in order to protect her reputation as the president, but occasionally students from her school show up there. Whenever someone she does recognize comes, she usually will hide in the locker room. Exceptions to this are Takumi Usui and The Moron Trio, who have promised to keep to the secret of her working there safe.
