Plot: The story unfolds in India where a plague has brought on a drought and famine. This causes war and injustice in the area especially with the caste system. Siddhartha sets out on a spiritual journey. Unhappy souls are intertwined into his life. He intends to become the Enlightened One and to bring a spiritual rebirth to the desperate people of India.
Why I chose this: Buddha was a fantastic manga to read so the movies were quite enjoyable as well. It is always nice to be able to learn something while enjoying an anime. The art was very nice as well.
