    *SPOILER WARNING*

*I will me rating this anime in categories of plot/story, art/animation, characters, music/sound track and overall rating. My rating scale is the standard 1-10. These are my own opinions but feel free to comment your opinions about the anime*

Hello it’s Ryu once again with an anime review.

Although the 2016 winter season brought a lot of disappointing anime there was one of them was a complete masterpiece and that anime was of course ERASED aka Boku Dake Ga Innai Machi.

    Plot of ERASED

    ERASED

The anime centers around a 29 year-old failed mangaka named Satoru who possess a mysterious power called revival. Revival allows Satoru to travel back in time approximately 5 minutes in order to save someone from dying. 18 years prior to the present 3 of his classmates disappeared and were found dead, the killer was never found. One day when he gets home he finds his mother dead on the ground which triggers his revival, but instead of going back 5 minutes he goes back 18 years around the time the disappearances happened. Satoru, now a 6th grader will try to find the killer in hopes of saving his classmates and his mother.

At first I thought that the anime was going to be a failure simply because the other anime from that season were terrible so my expectations were low. However after watching the first episode I fell in love with the series. One of the things I really loved was the cliffhangers at the end of each episode they just made me want to watch the other episode right away. The story was intriguing and mysterious, it made you hate some characters and love others. Plot/story wise this anime deserves a 10/10

    FINAL PLOT/STORY RATING: 10/10

    Art of ERASED

Erased had a pretty good art in my opinion. It wasn’t amazing but it wasn’t terrible nor average I really liked how Hinazuki’s red backpack and coat looked surrounded by the gray background.

    See what I mean

I think that the art style was good for this anime even though it wasn’t amazing so I will give it a 9/10

    FINAL ART/ANIMATION RATING: 9/10

    Characters of ERASED

I really liked most of the characters in this anime but some were really annoying and I really found them kinda useless. The characters had interesting personalities and the was they interacted with one another was really good. Let’s review the important characters one by one

    Satoru

Satoru is the main character of the anime. After being sent back back 18 years into the past by his revival Satoru becomes his 6th grader self who will try to save his classmates and his mother from a mysterious killer.

I think that Satoru is a great protagonist that has a really good motivation. He is definitely one of the best protagonists in anime.

    Hinazuki

Hinazuki is one of the victims of the kidnappings and is also the one that Satoru must save. She is the daughter of an abusive mother who beats her regularly.

Hinazuki is a really good side character she has the tsundere personality that makes her an adorable character.

    Satoru’s mom

Satoru’s mom died in the present time by the hands on who is presumed to be the same person behind the disappearances that happened 18 years ago. She knew the identity of the killer before she died and tried to send Satoru a text before dying but she was too late. She is one of the many people that help Satoru save his classmates 18 years in the past.

Satoru’s mom in my opinion is definitely the best mother in anime, she is very supportive and kind. She is definitely my favorite character in this anime.

    Kenya

Satoru’s mysterious friend who you go to think that he might be the killer.

Kenya is the best side character in this anime he is very supportive of Satoru.

    Hiromi

Hiromi is a feminine looking boy and also one of the original victims of the disappearances.

Hiromi is the character that I hated the most. Hiromi was literally useless in the series, although he offered to help Satoru save the other victims he barely did anything and he still got a lot of screen time.

    Airi

Satoru’s co-worker in the present she is an 18 year old girl who may or may not have feelings for Satoru.

She is a quite minor character but one that mostly supported Satoru. She was the only person that believed that he didn’t kill his mother and also helped him trigger his revival a second time.

    Sensei

A kind gentleman who you wouldn’t suspect at all of. He was very supportive of Satoru and helped him with Hinazuki but it turns out that he was the killer all along.

I think that he was a great antagonist but I hated him just by the fact that he was the killer and lied to Satoru.

Over all I really enjoyed most of the characters so I would give them a 9/10 just because I hate Hiromi.

    FINAL CHARACTER RATING: 9/10

    Music of ERASED

I love music and I think that music is actually a very important factor in anime because the background music and also the openings and ending give the feeling of the scenes in the anime and ERASED had an amazing sound track. The opening pumped you up for what was to come in the episodes full of suspense and thrills while the ending set you up for the resolution of the cliffhanger of the episode. I really enjoyed the music it perfectly fit the ambient of the anime

    Opening:

Over I really loved the music of this anime so I’ll give it a perfect 10/10
